Chong Qing Hot & Sour Noodles - In A Cup! 東門町重慶酸辣粉 - Kwai Fong

Sichuan Hot Cup Noodle 東門町 - 正宗重慶酸辣粉 - Kwai Fong
I've been seeing a lot of this noodles in paper cups lately...most of the times with super long queue. They boasted hot, spicy and sour noodles...up to the level of numbing-hot.
Do we dare to try?
Of cos we do...(but the less spicy one heheheh)

You could select some side dishes to go with your noodles...

See your noodles get made...

...and tada!

Spicy looking broth, preserved veggie, freshly chopped coriander, fried peanuts...looking really good...

We ordered pig intestines to go with the noodles...deeply flavored, absolutely delicious!

...and the rice sweet potato (thanks for pointing this out, Kevin!) noodles? Chewy, sticky, thick, transparent goodness. There's enough noodles in one bowl to fill you up, but I definitely go for more side dishes next time. The "least spicy" broth is only a little spicy (we could order a spicier version next time), and the amount of MSG? Whew! Abundant, as expected. Buy a lot of drinks to compensate :)

How do you eat it?
Standing up!

Noodles to face...

...or face to noodles...
It's up to you.
But whatever happens...

Don't spill.
...like SC ^_^'

(PS. A cup of noodles cost HK$13, side dishes around HK$6)

Those noodles are sweet potato noodles.. it is shocking that some can mistaken them as rice noodles. The texture and the taste are so different.

How interesting! It sure looks spicy. We tried spicy cup noodle before and it can really be very spicy, like sweating hot.

Oh wow! I'm already feeling the heat and spicy chilli just by looking at the pictures. It's wet day and raining right now .. this would be so, so right for lunch!

You can find it everywhere here, in Chongqing during the summer. Hahaha. It's so cheap here, around 5 RMB with the same portion that you had. The taste of 'original' suan la fen here is so tasty, spicy and hot. Even before they add the pepper inside! And really makes your lips and tongue go numb before you have the second sip. Hiks. Ouh, btw hi Rita :)
