Chinese Soup - Pork, Peanut & Red Date

You might think that I only post junk/unhealthy food...
Pork Bone, Peanut & Red Date Soup
Think again :D

These days, wherever I go (to the clinics, to the paediatrician, etc) carrying my newborn baby, everyone felt that they're entitled to offer me unsolicited advice.

"Don't wear short sleeved clothes"
"Don't drink cold drinks"
"Don't drink coke"
"I repeat, do not drink coke!"
"Don't wash your hair"
"Don't go out"
"Don't do this"
"Especially, don't do
Yada yada yada...

Anyway, they have my best interest at heart, so I greatly appreciate their advice (apart from the one telling me that I am not supposed to drink iced coke! What the...). I learnt new things from them every time :)

This soup was one of the advice I got from a lady in the clinic, who has a super cute baby and judging from the size of her jugs, she seems to have endless supply of milk :D

I guess it's worth trying.
A mom would do anything, remember?
Pork Bone, Peanut & Red Date Soup
- 1 lb pork (pork bone + pork shin for some "meat")
- a handful of peanuts
- a handful of red dates (core removed)
- hot water, salt and pepper to taste

Throw everything into a pressure cooker and pressure cook for 25 minutes, season to taste and slurp~

Although, it didn't make my chest overflowing with tasted pretty darn good ;p

It looks good! And not to drink iced coke? If someone said that to me, I'd strangled them (except my mom). :D

Well, I'm sorry that this didn't really serve it's intended purpose...but it still sounds awesome!

Mhm, we usually get served this at the beginning of a meal in HK when we got out with my Gran. That or pork and spinach soup :P

Yum! As for milk production/what-not-to-eat, girrrrl, you eat what you want! But if you eat spinach then breastfeed, word of warning: bubby's poo gonna be green! For realsies! :P

Well-meaning comments but totally unfounded. Asians are very good at that! I was drinking ice-cold drinks right after in the Recovery Rm, and washing my hair the same day! And my baby is now 22 and 6ft tall! As for breast-feeding, drink lots of fluids..and don't forget it is a supply-demand situation..the more the baby sucks, the more the boob will produce. Don't worry abt the volume put long as baby is healthy and putting on the weight. Btw, adorable little cutie u have there..congrats!

25mins in the pressure cooker? The pressure cooker really works super-fast for that bowl of soup.

The soup looks great! I normally eat herbal soup with chickens, but pork would be a nice alternative as well I think :)!
