How High Will You Go? Pricey Fruits from Japan

I fancy myself as someone who lives to eat.
But I wonder, how far and how high exactly I would go for food?

Would I be willing to climb high mountains, swim across wild rivers, walk through fires, work my ass off, sell my soul, sell my cousin's soul, betray my best friend, or kill a raging dragon...for the best of foods?
OK, although reality is often weirder than fiction, but that's too much exaggeration.

Let's get real.
Would I be willing to shell out HK$275 (around USD35) for a melon? A beautiful Hokkaido King Ruby Melon that it was?...

...or HKD330 (USD42) for a pack of Kyoho grapes?

Turned out....
My cheap-ass self thought, if I liked the HKD17.90 melon and HK$10/lb grapes just fine, why should I go for the expensive versions?

However,
My curious-wanna-try-everything self wonder, are they really as good as their price tags?
I guess I should try them at least once.
Will I still be able to love el-cheapo melons and grapes after trying these supremes?
This worries me.

Have you tried any of them, guys?

Get 'em from City Super

I'm a cheapskate. For me, it'll be a question of how low I will go, LOL

I'm a cheapskate too, same vitamins and fibre in the fruit and yet...and yet, would it be so much better, would it blow my mind? Could I ever go back to mushrooms after trying truffles? Well, yes.

Hum, I never see fruits that cost that price at the grosserie, why they are so expensive ? I don't get it.

Not for me, fruit is still fruit, the nutrient and vitamin are the same no matter how expensive it is once is in our bodies. But if I'm a multi-millionaire, then that's a different story. :P

wow, that's expensive but I might try once just to see what's so special about them.

Wow, these are so costly! Kyoho grapes cost 10 dollars for a big box in my area- fun to eat and almost like globes of candy. But how they are packaged in your area is fancier...and plus they plucked them out already for you!

I shopped at City Super a few times and there are some expensive things in there.

I say.. since we're all gonna die someday, better die broke but with the belly happy. :)
