Popeye's Fried Chicken, Cajun Fries & Buttermilk Biscuit - Hong Kong International Airport

I did something crazy last weekend.

How crazy, exactly?
I went to Hong Kong International Airport.

How is that crazy? Going to the airport is pretty...normal.
Yes, if you're going for a trip.
Yes, if you're sending someone away.
Yes, if you're picking someone up.

I wasn't gonna do any of the above.

I went through the long train ride (mind you, more than 30 minutes on the train = long by Hong Kong standard) plus another bus ride to the airport, glaring at people with luggages going for their holidays, turning green with envy...

...just to have lunch at Popeye's Fried Chicken.

:S

SC couldn't believe I was doing this when he found out.
Sometimes it is good that he didn't pay attention to what I say most of the time :D
Lalala~

What did I have?

The fried chicken. Super crispy skin with tender and juicy meat.
SC and I still love KFC's chicken better, but I was there for the "accessories".

The batter fried shrimps with tartar sauce. Crispy batter, succulent shrimp meat.

I was there mainly for these Cajun Fries. Tasty, tasty, tasty! Perfect with lots of ketchup and sweet chilli sauce.

...and I was there for this flaky and super buttery buttermilk biscuit, topped with honey.
YUM!

Finally, I had one of my cravings satisfied ^_^

If you happen to be in Hong Kong International Airport, or if you're as crazy as me...go for it.
If you have Popeye's Chicken in town, I am jealous >.<

In fact, the airport in SGP is encouraging pple to go to the airport - shop and eat! hahah...singapore too small, no where to go! In fact, I believe there is a Popeye's chicken in the SG airport too but I have not tried it.

P.S You can eat salmon in moderation. Omega is good for the bb ;D ....do you like sardine? smaller fish and good source of omega too.

Yay, Halal Certified!

In addition to what Tigerfish commented, sardines are good choice, especially brisling sardine.

I actually ate Popeye's at the HK airport outlet before!

Haha. I remember how much I craved French fries and a good old burger when I was in Vietnam for a summer.

BTW, Popeye's here is only a few minutes away from me and on Tuesdays and Thursdays 2 pieces of chicken are only 99 cents. :P

I heard we can have Popeye in town now! Noobcook, I think everything in HK taste better except KFC. I was so disappointed with the KFC in HK because we could smell it from a distance away only to be surprised at the luckluster quality.

Not crazy at all. I used to go to HKIA to eat Popeye's every other month or so when I lived on Ma Wan (the bus ride was something like $18 for residents then), though I haven't done a special trip for such for about a year now. I'm a New Orleanian and generally cook our food when I'm at home, but I cannot mimic their biscuits to save my life (and sometimes a gal just gets the *envies*).

What a coincidence! We just got back from Popeyes. :) We had their Tuesday Special, 2 pieces(leg and thigh) for USD0.99. We ordered 10 pieces and the total was less than $6! Yummy cheap meal ya. :) I don't eat fast food very often, but I like Popeyes spicy breading.
