Duddell St Starbucks Bing Sutt (Old Cafe) Concept
This might be old news.
But, hey! I love everything old. Vintage clothes, dinnerware, home accessories, etc etc etc...hmmm, except for boys, I like them young and crunchy. HAHA! (prompting you to hide your younger brothers/cousins from auntie Rita)
Many of my friends recommended this Starbucks outlet on Duddell St, Central. They know I am not a Starbucks freak, but from how I show up to work in HK$10 old vintage dresses, I've been known as a sucker for golden oldies.
Starbucks worked with G.O.D to make this old style Hong Kong cafe (Bing Sutt) happened.
Do people visit this place for Starbucks' "famous" coffee/food?
Yeah. I didn't think so.
Hello, Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Panasonic, Blackberry, iPhone, Holga, etc etc etc...
For a first visit, it's quite an eye candy.
This one made you feel like you live in a densely populated old flat, maybe in Mongkok, the glare from neon signs illuminated your room, a flag by the street covered your view of (possibly naked) people from the opposite building looking straight back at you.
It was so hard trying to control myself not to steal this rusty jewel.
Love!
The birds which never chirped...
Another tempting corner of old fan, TV, and a cabinet full of treasures.
We still use that old style calendar back home in Indonesia. My mom always freaks out if my sister and I forgot our duty to tear off the old pages.
Hello, gorgeous...wanna move in?
Feel like swatting some bugs?
I want to own the world!...OK...or an old globe.
Tape your windows in case of typhoon.
I gawked and snapped, gawked and snapped, almost totally ignored my food (which normally is as unlikely as the sun rising in the West)...
The Bing Sutt trio snacks (HK$34), inspired by classic snacks from Hong Kong old coffee shops, with added Starbucks twists, namely coffee. A pineapple bun with a slab of butter, coffee egg tart (which was surprisingly delicious, the coffee is in the tart shell, not the filling)...and...the best bit...
Coffee cocktail bun.
I am not a big fan of the classic version, but the addition of coffee in the coconutty filling made it all better.
There were also many local beauties posing for pictures there. Go on, bring your biggest camera and most impressive lens to get to know them.

Fabulous photographs!
I can't believe this is Starbucks. The whole concept really brings back nostalgia! Beautiful pictures as always.
I'm gonna steal all your photos!
I like this word...coconutty...heee heee
I can't believe this place is a Starbucks. It looks way too cool! Only in HK. Starbucks in the US look like dentist offices. Fun!

WOnderful! old is the new new I think!
Ooh, add this to places I'm going to make you take me if/when I ever get to Hong Kong. It reminds me of old Chinese movies.
Lovely photos, very antique! I want to steal your coffee egg tart. :P
I wish I could go, but it's all the way in Hong Kong! Those pastries looked yummy...
