Steak Dinner Date Night - L'Entrecôte De Paris Restaurant, Central, Hong Kong

L'Entrecote de Paris, Hong Kong
Thanks to L'Entrecôte De Paris Restaurant for inviting us.

L'Entrecote de Paris, Hong Kong
The place is lovely and people can make reservations. Good for those who don't like lining up ;)

Here's what we had...

Love love LOVE this clam dish. The sauce is so tasty, we used the clam shell to scoop and drank it.

L'Entrecote de Paris, Hong Kong
I've never been a salad person, but ok - veggie quota of the day gets ticked off our list.

L'Entrecote de Paris, Hong Kong
The beef is lean and very tender.

L'Entrecote de Paris, Hong Kong
The sauce is tasty.

L'Entrecote de Paris, Hong Kong
Yummy fries swimming in sauce - my favorite.

Their desserts... I like!
L'Entrecote de Paris, Hong Kong
I am always partial and always have to order the chocolatiest thing on the menu. This chocolate cake is so good! Moist, chocolatey. I love.

L'Entrecote de Paris, Hong Kong
The Paris Brest is really good too.

L'Entrecote de Paris, Hong Kong
To summarize, these are the things I like:
- You can book a table
- There are appetizers other than the salad
- There is salmon and vegetarian option for those who don't eat steak (I didn't try the salmon though)
- Their fries and sauce
- The desserts

Here are the prices:

Many asked how does this one compare to La Vache or Le Relais de l'Entrecote.
I do like La Vache's steak, but I don't really enjoy lining up... and I enjoy some decent desserts to end my meal with. So, I'm torn.
I have yet to try Le Relais de l'Entrecote - maybe one day when I feel like lining up. Heheheh.

Have you tried them all? Which one is your favorite?

Meat Lovers Dinner, Blue Butcher Hong Kong

Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
That's what generally happens when you have a bunch of bloggers eating together :)

The meaty journey started with this bone marrow dish.
Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
Delish, I wanted to use a straw to suck the marrow out. But I was in the company of new friends... so maybe next time. Sucking marrow via straw is more like a second date kinda thing, right?

Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
The spanish ham & egg with asparagus mushrooms and thyme. Yummy.

Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
Rare breed US Kurobuta pork belly & cheek with lentils and Granny Smith apple slaw. Tender 24 hr cooked meat, perfectly cooked lentils and I love the slaw - really refreshing.

Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
Love the fries plus plus.

Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
The ribs. I love how tender the meat is, but the sauce is a tad on a sweet side for me. A tiny bit more kick of savoriness would be perfect for me.

Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
I adore the cheesy cauliflower side dish.

Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
And love love LOVE the steak. LOVE!

And the drinks!
Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
I always adore the idea of turning something savory into something sweet or vice versa. So I really wanted to try this fig and cheese cocktail. I like the flavors, the only thing is... the foam left me with blue cheese foam mustache. Something for my date to wipe off my face adoringly? :)

Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
I like how the drink is encased in a block of ice.

Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
This is "The Flapper" - Chambord, sherry brandy and orange bitters. I like it.

Sweets.
Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
Chocolate, banana, caramel.

Blue Butcher, Hong Kong
Lemon Cappuccino. Cool idea.

To conclude, I love the meat dishes, would totally go back. The place is cool too, a great place to hang out on special occasions. If you're into food photography, bring your best low light lens or external flash or use your phone as additional lighting ;)

Thank you for having me, Blue Butcher!

James' Kitchen - Private Kitchen, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
Good deal decent dinner! We had the privilege to order the VIP members only set dinner because my colleague is the chef's secondary classmate! Yay! We love good deals!

James' Special Platter.
James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
Salad with Serrano ham. Nothing earth shattering...

James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
Poached egg salad with black truffle paste. The egg's poached beautifully, but I am maxed out on black truffle paste. I wish there's more dressing with more acid and seasoning.

James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
Yummy yummy oysters. Many of my colleagues don't eat oysters, which means - more for me!

James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
Love the foie T_T really really love it. Pear's poached perfectly. Yum max!

James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
Duck soup. Very well seasoned, very tasty. I finished every single drop of it. And I'm not even a soup person :)

James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
Spinach & cheese homemade ravioli with king prawn. Perfectly cooked prawns, decent ravioli. The creamy sauce is a tad to sweet for me though. I wanted more salt and acid.

James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
Perfectly cooked and well seasoned Australian grain-fed rib eye steak. It's served with black pepper sauce, which is yum. But I am not a big fan of the lotus root chunks, sweet potato mash, and taro crisp part. I was happy to just demolish the steak.

Now... some serious desserts. They are mostly yummy and the servings are generous. Value for money!
James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
Epic baked Alaska. There are black sesame mochi ice cream balls hidden underneath. We LOVE!

James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
Creme brulee. Yummy.

James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
75% dark chocolate cake. It's yummy too.... until I had the next one...

James Kitchen, Tsim Shat Tsui, Hong Kong
My photo didn't do this molten chocolate cake justice. It's absolutely delicious! Love it!
My colleagues signed up for VIP membership as soon as they finished dinner :)
And because of my colleague, we got a platter of free dessert too - yay! Thanks, Chef!

VIP Members only set dinner: HK$488 for two (not including dessert) + HK$90 for foie

Hong Kong Style Steak House - Salami Restaurant, Tsuen Wan

Salami Restaurant
A charming classic Hong Kong steak house.
Look at that smirking little chef at the entrance. I adore!

Salami Restaurant
The decor is very old skool.

Salami Restaurant
I hardly see this kind of doors and curtains anymore.

Salami Restaurant
Black and white tiles, old chairs, Hong Kong version of diner seats (car wai)...I love!

Salami Restaurant
Sparkly disco stairway to a smoky second floor.
Aw!

Salami Restaurant
Daily specials.

Salami Restaurant
Wilted flowers. Of course. I'd wilt too from all that smoke from the sizzling hot plate.

Salami Restaurant
Napkins and table setting paper, all with Salami classic graphic. Lovely!

Salami Restaurant
Set meals start with fluffy buns and butter.

Salami Restaurant
Red soup. I always choose the red soup.

Salami Restaurant
And then your sizzling meals arrive. Servers will pour your sauce.
Shield yourself with a napkin to avoid getting oil vapour all over you.

Salami Restaurant
This is a "mixed grill". It's overflowing with all kinds of meat in there.
Beef, pork, chicken, ham (or bacon), chicken sausage, mixed veggies and fries.

Salami Restaurant
The double beef. Marinated, corn starched, tenderized.
Ironically, not my favorite thing to order from Hong Kong style steak houses.

Salami Restaurant
My favorite from Salami is...these two huge pieces of deep fried and breaded chicken "cutlets"!!! Crispy exterior, juicy interior, tasty all the way through! Served with potato "salad" drenched with mayo. I LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Not every Hong Kong steak house serves these chicken cutlets. If they don't have this, my next go-to choice is the "grilled" chicken steak. Always tasty.

Salami Restaurant
Portions are generally gigantic, but we're big eaters.
We finish.

Salami Restaurant
Servers always assume that the boy ordered the creamy drink and the girl ordered the lemony drink.
In our case, they're always wrong.

Salami Restaurant
The giant meal ends with a small serving of frozen solid ice cream.
Sweet!
