Sinchon Korean BBQ & Fried Chicken, Tsim Sha Tsui

This type of Korean BBQ places is so hawttttt right now. Thanks to recent craze of kpop & kdramas ;)

We're happy to have stumbled into this new place near the fried chicken place with crazy queue (Lee's family) - I don't do queues! The cute place serves BBQ, some cooked dishes & fried chicken.

We ordered a serving of beef. Generous serving, tender & tasty.

Our server helped us cooking it to charred but juicy perfection.

Hello, beautiful combo of flavors! Come to mama.
You guys might notice that I didn't add any raw garlic in here. I super dislike raw garlic... Hehehe.

The BBQ pan was changed after every single serving is cooked. No burnt pan ;)

We ordered spicy marinated pork too.

Not bad, but I love the beef more.
The meaty meal's served with various small side dishes (banchan). Mostly are refreshing pickled vegetables to balance out the meat.

Thanks to the recent kdrama "My Love From Another Star", SC had to have fried chicken & beer. So we ordered a mix of sweet spicy & plain.
I love that the sweet spicy one has light dressing, not as sticky sweet as the one from the famous Lee's family. The batter & the chicken could do with more seasoning, my dead taste buds find them underseasoned :)

And of course, we had to have the chicken with beer - thanks to the drama. I still prefer my chicken with iced coke though...

The drama crazed SC.

The BBQ place's walls are full of kdrama pics. Too cute.

We had a ridiculous amount of food for just the two of us, we had to take away the chicken. The food's reasonably priced. Too bad they don't take reservations. So, go early :)

Signs That Your Man Is Crazy About K Dramas

He suddenly wanted chicken & beer instead of chicken & coke...

He suddenly wanted jajangmyeon instead of Indomie Goreng as midnight snack..

He went for HK$68 kimchi ramyun breakfast instead of HK$29 Satay Beef Nissin Noodle set.

I am speechless for the next ones...

He's definitely gone kdrama kpop cray cray.
All thanks to the recently crazy popular drama My Love From Another Star :D

Cath Kidston Inspired Afternoon Tea at Feast, Hong Kong

If you're mad about Cath Kidston, this afternoon tea set might be for you. Everything's served in cute Cath Kidston florals :)

But we can't eat porcelain now, can we? How about the food?

Classic fruit scone with Devon Clotted Cream & Strawberry Jam? Not bad :)

Sweets:
Rose cream filled macaron: I like the fragrance.
Orange blossom chocolate bon bon: too sweet for me.
Earl grey cupcake: moist with nice frosting, but I could use more earl grey flavors :)

Savouries:
English honey glazed ham & mustard sandwich, tea smoked salmon, horseradish & cucumber sandwich, duck egg mayo & watercress sandwich, asparagus wrapped in gorgonzola & cured English ham, sun-blushed tomato palmiers, & quiche lorraine.
They're not too bad, but could be much better. My socks weren't exactly blown off.

So, if seeing cute Cath Kidston inspired things floats your boat, go for it.
Plus, you get Cath Kidston rose hand cream & discount voucher to buy Cath Kidston's latest goodies.
The set is available for HK&228 for two on weekdays, or HK$195 per person (buffet) on weekends from 3:00 - 5:30 pm until 18 May 2014.

Thanks to East & Petrie PR for the invite.

Strawberries, Honey & Caramel

Things that we did with our strawberry loot from Kam Tin Country Park...
strawberry and honey
We dipped the strawberries with a bit of local honey bought from the country park. The honey's from strawberry flowers, super super fragrant! I love it.
We also had the strawberries we caramel spread.
OMG.
Perfect. Match.

We had a lot of fun picking the berries.
The perfect weekend activity.
Go before the weather gets too hot and all the strawberries are gone.

There were lots of things to do too. Super fun for kids.

This year OB's big enough to feed the animals on his own. I totally enjoyed schooling the animals not to fight for the food :)

Hey cutie little bunny...

Now OB is also old enough to ride this orange elephant on his own.

Mommy wanted to ride this too!

Extra treat! Pretty sunflowers bigger than my head!

Fun Weekend at Shek O Beach & Village, Hong Kong

Shek O Beach has got to me my favorite beach in Hong Kong. I love the big waves and the clean super fine sand.

OB loves it too, after our holiday in Bali (which I must blog about before next year), he is getting addicted to playing at the beach.

After playing at the beach, we had a lovely lunch at a Thai eatery just across the road from the beach.
The food's decent, and the price isn't a rip off. We love it.

To fight food coma, we had a walk around the lovely village. Look at all these gorgeousness...

Of course I had to make SC do a narcissistic pose against this lovely old window.
Naturally.

Since none of us fancy carrying a naughty 3 year old, so we decided to drive through Shek O Village Road to view the amazing rocky beach at the end of the village.

We had fun doing silly poses, sadly there's no mommy in the picture.
Sobs... don't worry, I did manage to include myself in photos from time to time by doing selfies.

To summarize, my favorite things to do in Shek O are:
1. Being a lazy bum hanging around the beach without getting into the water - preferably with a good read, snacks and drinks
2. Eat my way through the village
3. Exploring & photographing the village
4. Gawking at the amazing view, listening to the big waves hitting the rocks
But you can also do some hiking, surfing, flying kites, BBQ, getting pre-wedding photos taken, gawking at those getting their pre-wedding photos taken (we saw at least 3 different couples), etc etc etc. Enjoy!

How to go to Shek O?
Take MTR to Shau Kei Wan station & then take bus no 9.
If you drive, be there early (before noon). Parking space goes fast on weekends.
